2014-15 Winter Predictions

Well it looks like we might be in for another bang up winter following last years cold and snow.  Get out there and get your sleds ready for snow.  Maybe a puchase of a newer model is in your future.  The Drifters Snowmobile Club will be ready to groom the trails to perfection.

Here is a look at the official winter weather prediction from the Farmers’ Almanac.

Thoughts about 2010 Club Ride
The Drifters snowmobile club ride at the Lake of the Torches Casino was a blast! We could have used some fresh snow but mother nature was not looking out for us. Several members went up on Thursday night to extend the official ride. I heard reports from them as they put on 500 miles in three days. We however went up Friday morning to meet the group. We gathered everyone that was around for the Friday ride and we were off and ended up riding 175 miles. Saturday morning we all met up and separated into two groups. One group had a much longer ride and the other enjoyed the view. We all met up at a rest point and proceeded to go out for dinner at a local Pizza place. The food was great. Sunday some rode to the breakfast point and other drove. We finished the weekend off with a great breakfast. Our trip odometer was 275 miles.

The 2011 club ride will be February 18-20th 2011 at the Gateway Lodge. We have a deposit on two cabins. One sleeps 16 or so. This place is what everyone thinks of north woods style. check out there website and web cam. Gateway Lodge Website

Hope to see you all up there. Join our club and join in on the fun!!
